Dear BAN,
The God you love and worship is my God also. And being God, He can be whoever and however He chooses. He is a spirit and in the O.T. was only “seen” by His glory- the shekina glory and we are told no one can see him and live. Jesus says he came to make God, the Father known.
Now to this man Jesus and all he says about God, the Father and Himself, the Son.
My proof text is all of the Gospel of John (red letter edition).
In these words of Jesus,He claims to be–
- one with the father,
- to be sent by thy Father,
- to be going back to the Father,
- to do only what His Father wills etc.
You must come to grips with who Jesus is. He cannot be a good man whose teachings we should follow and be full of blasphemy at the same time. BAN, you must either total reject Jesus or believe His words.
In every case, who Jesus is is the crux of the matter

Those who are just itching like I am to participate in this discourse may do so by posting your comments on each side’s challenge of the other, with their individual justification and scriptural basis to back up their argument. I can see so many points just in this one email that should be springboards for those watching on the sidelines. Springboards for what? Thinking more deeply about our individual foundation, whose word are we trusting? Where is God’s word in the “Bible” . . . which side is bordering on blasphemy ? The elephant in the room is this: which scripture is to be taken as God’s first and last word to humankind? The TNK? or the Christian 2-part Bible? Think, think, think!
