KINDLE THE SABBATH LIGHTS
Be Thou My Vision – Borrowed Music/Revised Lyrics
Be Thou My Vision
YAHUWAH my LORD,
Be Thou the Guide for my life,
through Thy Word,
Thou and Thou alone
fill my mind, fill my heart,
I vow that from Thee my God,
I shall never depart!
Be Thou my MASTER,
Thy servant am I,
How does a lowly one serve One on High,
Oh what sacrifice would be worthy of Thee?
A humble, repentant heart, and a mind that sees Thee?
Be Thou my SHEPHERD through pastures of life,
Feed me with nurturing words through all strife,
Lead me back when sometimes I wander from Thee,
Dear SHEPHERD, Thy flock I pray never would from Thee stray.
Be Thou my dear Heavenly Father above,
Be Thou the One who inspires me to love,
All of Thy creation bring praises to Thee,
YAHUWAH, Almighty God, how I long to see Thee.
Be Thou My Vision, YAHUWAH my LORD,
Be Thou the Guide for my life, through Thy Word,
Thou and Thou alone fill my mind, fill my heart,
I vow that from Thee my God, I shall never depart!
Psalm 27 King James Version (KJV)
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes,
came upon me to eat up my flesh,
they stumbled and fell.
3 Though a host should encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear:
though war should rise against me,
in this will I be confident.
4 One thing have I desired of the Lord,
that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord,
and to inquire in his temple.
5 For in the time of trouble
he shall hide me in his pavilion:
in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me;
he shall set me up upon a rock.
6 And now shall mine head be lifted up
above mine enemies round about me:
therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy;
I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice:
have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face;
my heart said unto thee,
Thy face, Lord, will I seek.
9 Hide not thy face far from me;
put not thy servant away in anger:
Thou hast been my help;
leave me not, neither forsake me,
O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me,
then the Lord will take me up.
11 Teach me thy way, O Lord,
and lead me in a plain path,
because of mine enemies.
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies:
for false witnesses are risen up against me,
and such as breathe out cruelty.
13 I had fainted, unless I had believed
to see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage,
and he shall strengthen thine heart:
wait, I say, on the Lord.
How can we thank You, Lord YHWH,
for Your Goodness and Generosity?
Your Loving-Kindness, Your Graciousness—
for the Provisions You pour upon us,
day after day,
for the Protection You spread not only around us
but around our loved ones as well.
We thank You with our lips speaking praises,
with our hearts full of gratitude,
with our minds thinking of ways
we can show our appreciation.
Worshipping You, praying to You, praising You,
Outward acts that reflect our love for you
never seem enough.
We can never reciprocate enough,
But perhaps we could extend the abundance
You allow us to enjoy,
with all others who have less in life.
Thank You for the opportunities You provide for us
to love You back
in terms of loving our fellowmen,
and extending Your Goodness
in ways that the recipients will be led to You,
The One True God,
and will come to know Your Name,
YHWH,
and will heed Your Instructions for Life,
Your TORAH.
We pray that our loved ones,
our family, friends, co-workers,
and the social circles we function in–
We pray that they all will come to know You,
through the witness of our lives.
Indeed, may it be so!
And now, may we lift up before
Your Throne of Grace,
our loved ones:
[name them one by one].

HAVDALAH
Blessed are You,
YHWH our God,
King of the universe,
Who has commanded Israel and Gentile believers in You—
to set aside a day of rest—
to cease from our six days of toiling,
and find rest for body, soul, and spirit,
on this special day.
Blessed are You, Lord of the Sabbath,
for the fourth commandment —
to remember the Sabbath Day,
to observe it as a day of rest:
a time of refreshment,
a time with family and friends,
a time for ourselves,
And most specially,
a time with You.
As we bid goodbye to this 1st Sabbath of December,
we look forward to the next Sabbath,
remembering to live Your Torah
from sundown to sundown,
from Sabbath to Sabbath,
all the days of our lives.
Amen.
SHABBAT SHALOM
to all Sinaites, Messianics, Christian
and unaffiliated friends —
have a restful, peaceful, joy-full
Day of Rest!
